SPIRIT ALIVE CHURCH PROVIDES SMILES AND SACK LUNCHES FOR HOMELESS
A group of families from Spirit Alive Church recently spent a Sunday afternoon making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and delivering over 75 sack lunches to the homeless of Kenosha around Library Park, Bain Park, Brass Park, Bose Park, First Step and the Urban Outreach Center. The recipients were grateful for some friendly conversation, sandwiches, chips and bottled water. “One gentleman was moved to tears that someone cared enough for him to bring him lunch,” said Spirit Alive member Mike Crabb. “It was fun to make so many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,” said Spirit Alive youth Samantha Steinbrenner (pictured). Pastor Jennifer Carlson said, “We were pleasantly surprised when someone anonymously donated four jars of peanut butter and three jars of jelly for the project after they read about it in the Kenosha News.” If you’d like to donate or hear about future community service opportunities, please contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 262-658-2433. There is still so much to do to address hunger and homelessness in Kenosha!
